Another one of those murals that had never been posted but was photographed ages ago. I was reminded of it when on the way to pick up the pieces of furniture that Dr J gave me when she moved house in October, as mentioned in my October Wrap-up.
The mural was painted on the walls of Lawley's Bakery on the corner of Stirling Highway and Bruce Street in the suburb of Nedlands, by young Perth artist Ariel Katzir in 2017.
If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you. Just follow the Linky steps below. Once you start looking you find murals everywhere.
This is a unique mural. I bet the muralist would be great at caricature. That's what her art reminds me of. Glad you found this in your archives, dear.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. Stayed up to see what is happening with the linky's timing, as the mural is up but it takes another 10 minutes for the Linky to become active, even though it's set to go on at the same time!
DeleteI held my breath that I could actually LINK this week. It worked like it was supposed to. Thanks for being such a caring and considerate host, dear.
DeleteThanks 😊
DeleteThe limited colors are very effectively used in your mural of the week. I'm not getting around town enough to find any new murals this week, but I've seen many interesting stories in the news about murals and especially about political murals.
ReplyDeletebe safe!... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae. I can imagine there would be lots of political murals popping up all over 😊
Deletea very colorful and original mural with funny characters.
ReplyDeleteThanks Arnaud.
DeleteI like how they've stuck to the 3 colours...yellow, black and white, makes it clear.
ReplyDeleteI quite like the combination too Amy 😊
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteCan't seem to figure out what the images depict...
Hugs,
Mariette
There's 2 people, one with a bag full of bread pointing the way to the alfresco area behind the Bakery, the other has a cake and pointing the way to the bakery.
DeleteThanks Mariette.
Still don't know that those big attention grabbers in-between depict...
DeleteThanks for sharing this Sami, I like it :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan :)
DeleteHi Sammy..sorry if my comment goes to you twice but I am not seeing the previous one so I am just checking if something's wrong.Just want to say that I love your mural for this week. The caricatures are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSorry Teresa, don't appear to have received the previous comment, not under spam either. But thanks for your comment :)
DeleteA great character work of a satisfied customer showing the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew :)
DeleteThose are so very cool. Thanks for sharing them. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patrick :)
DeleteInteresting mix of styles, so delicate and striking in the same mural.
ReplyDeleteAnd it made me smile. Bakeries finally really make bread! I remember the first times in Australia, the white bread we got everywhere, brr. And then somewhere in the Asherton Table lands... petit pain, yummmm.
The sandwich bread sold at supermarkets is disgusting! But we do have a couple of good bakeries, although I prefer to bake my own, simple, quick and no preservatives.
DeleteAwesome works
ReplyDeleteThanks Rupam.
DeleteNice yellow mural.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteThe caricatures are very appealing - as long as I don't look like that having eaten the bread! Good bread is hard to find, so if you stumble on a good bakery stick with it!
ReplyDeleteLawleys is a great bakery actually, I've eaten some of their bread and liked it. But I usually bake my own bread once a week.
DeleteI love everything about this mural. I am obsessed with anything coffee related. Always collecting cafe signs.
ReplyDeleteGlad it "spoke" to you Jackie. I'm not a coffee drinker...
DeleteStriking!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia.
DeleteThis is wonderful, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat.
DeleteGostei muito da sua entrada, muito obrigado pelo seu tempo
ReplyDeleteObrigada Luis.
DeleteI like it too.
ReplyDeleteThanks William.
DeleteI once had my caricature drawn at a festival. We paid for it but I didn't like it. Later I threw it away.
ReplyDeleteLol, my husband and I had one done by some "struggling" artist on our first visit to Paris in 1984. It looks nothing like us, but I still kept it as a souvenir of our trip :)
DeleteAch, bakeries! One of my absolute favorite places to visit and . . . occasionally to indulge.
ReplyDeleteYes, a good bakery can be our downfall, lol.
DeleteThanks Mark
Love her quirky style Sami.. the pastries are pretty good there too 😉
