I saw this mural at the Old Doha Port (or Mina District), an area that has been redeveloped as a quaint neighbourhood with cobbled streets, low level pastel coloured buildings, hotels and apartments, boutiques, lots of cafes and restaurants lining the promenade, plus a modern fish market and the Grand Terminal building where cruise ships dock.
Painted in December 2023 for Doha's "World Wide Walls International Mural Festival" by Spanish street artist Lula Goce, this lady in pink is splashed across the walls of a pink building next to a staircase leading to the promenade.
This initiative turned the area of Doha's Old Port into an open gallery with the creation of 13 murals.
The Spanish artist has a PhD and a Masters in artistic creation from the Fine Arts University of Barcelona, and her work can be seen around the world. It was the first time I came across her name and art but she certainly has painted some stunning murals.
