This 24 mt (78.7ft) long mural was painted by Perth artist Sioux Tempest in 2020 on the outside walls of a grocery store - IGA, at 629 Beaufort Street, in Perth's northern suburb of Mount Lawley.

From the artists website: "Drawing inspiration from the history of the location, there are many local references including the Hyde Park lakes and black swans, the leaf of the beautiful Moreton Bay Fig, Art Deco and heritage architecture, Lincoln St ventilation stack, the number 18 tram that used to run up Beaufort St… any many more which I’ll leave for you to work out! At 24+ metres long on the main wall, plus the rear wall, it’s difficult to fit it in one shot"

Monday Murals - Always was, Always will be

Another mural painted for the "No more blank walls festival" in April this year. Can be seen in Astor Lane, which covers what I presume to be the walls where rubbish/thrash bins are kept.

Painted by Aboriginal artist J.D.Penangke, initials that come from her name Jade Dolman and Penangke (pen-ung-gah) which is her skin name inherited from her father's line.

“Always Was, Always Will Be” is now often chanted at different gatherings, protests and rallies as a reminder that First Nations people have and will continue to fight for their lands and their rights.``
