Signs - Movember

Sign photographed in November last year in Fremantle in front of the Old Bridge Cellars (OBC). Since we are in the month of Movember I thought it would be appropriate.
The Movember charity raises money to fund projects for men across mental health and suicide prevention and prostate and testicular cancer prevention by asking men to register with the charity, and start growing a moustache and motivate friends to donate and support the movement.

At my husband's old working place, all the men would be asked to participate and grow a moustache and the company would equal the donation amount the men had collected during the month.
Do any of the men reading this blog participate?

For other signs from across the world please check Tom's blog.

Photo taken in Fremantle harbour when my daughter, son in law and his parents and brother visited us     in December 2019.  (here my son in law was taking the photo)

    1. I don't like seeing Jose with a moustache now that he's older, but I didn't mind it when he was younger. It was a great effort by the company.

  3. I don't think the Movember movement ever really caught on here, and I have not heard it spoken of this year at all. Mind you, the news is pretty much consumed by Covid and the madness south of the border.

    1. Thanks David. Here "Movember" gets plenty of publicity on TV, and we see TV announcers with their moustaches, and famous people organize fund raising events. Luckily Covid is under control here, in Western Australia we haven't had community transmission for about 7 months...but our State borders will be opening mid November, let's see how it goes.

  4. Oh, what a great Movember move. I really appreciate this movement. Unfortunately this kind of movement doesn't exist in my country yet. Hopefully there will be a later. Greetings from Indonesia.

  5. Such a good fundraising event Sami, and not really too hard. I wonder how many men decide they look fabulous with a moustache and keep them 😊 Lovely photo of the family 💙

    1. Yes, very easy to participate Grace. Jose used to have a moustache in his younger days, but now I prefer to see him without one.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. I read it was also popular in the States, but it's sad if they let this initiative due. Not sure if exists anywhere else in the world.

    1. That would be a funny T-shirt shirt Tom. I find beards make men look older :) Thanks for hosting Tom.

  12. That is so cute! My mustache is not full as I wanted it to be, it has a big gap in the middle so I am not much of a fan of growing it so thick because I think I look like a catfish HAHA But love the cause of this project you shared dear Sami!
