Signs - Like no place on earth

Taken on my last visit to Sydney in June this year, of the P & O Pacific Explorer, one of the big cruise ships that I saw docked at Circular Quay.
It certainly wasn't the largest I saw in Sydney during the 18 months I visited the city, but it was the closest cruise ship I got to, as I cruised by on a ferry, on a day trip to Mosman.

As of today, Tom has taken over the Signs meme , so pop over to see more signs from around the world.

  1. It wouldn´t be my cup of tea to be on such a cruise ship for days or weeks, but it looks impressive.

    1. I've only been on a very small cruise ship about 15 years ago, so I think this is too big for me, too many people...

  2. I took one cruise and found out quite quickly that I had no desire to take another. I wonder how these huge ships will handle the transition away from fossil fuels.

    1. Never been on such a huge cruise ship, just once on a small one. It won't be easy to transition, they would need different motors I presume.

  6. That's a lovely sign you found to welcome Tom as the new host of Signs. I would LOVE to take a cruise, but it would have to be one of those small ships that holds less than 200 people. These large ships pose too many problems, one of which is widespread illness. Another of course, is not being able to disembark quickly if the boat were about to capsize.

    1. I've taken a cruise many years ago but on a much smaller ship and enjoyed it, but was much younger then too. Nowadays you hear a lot about illnesses that people get on ships, so it's a bit scary. Thanks Elizabeth

  9. Your photos really capture the enormity of that ship! I can't imagine being confined with that huge number of fellow passengers, and having to wait in line for everything. The cruises I've taken were all centered on wildlife, very distant cultures, and exotic scenery, and had between 50 and 160 passengers each. Quite a contrast!

  11. That is big. The biggest ship I've ever been on was a ferry crossing to Prince Edward Island here.

  12. I've done the big cruise ships and they aren't for me. I always got sick and I got food fatigue. Everything tasted the same and that wasn't good.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

  18. Dearest Sami,
They are in a way ugly horizon polluters as they are floating cities.
No aspiration for ever being on such a monstrous sized cruise ship.
Our Viking cruise had 98 cabins and that over 3 levels, it was very small compared to these...
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette
