On my recent trip to the south west region of Western Australia with my overseas visitors,
I found this mural by Australian artists Kyle Hughes-Odgers and Ian Mutch on the main street in the town of Margaret River (in the IGA supermarket wall)
You can check out other murals from around the world here.
Reminds me of the one you can see from the bridge on train station Leederville, is it the same artist?
ReplyDeleteTo you here/the blog a great 2016, too, Sami! :-)
Thanks Iris. I was going to say it is the same artist but I saw Grace has replied to you.
DeleteIt is the same artist Iris.. Super find Sami, love his work in and around the city.
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace. He has some wonderful murals around Perth.
DeleteThanks, Grace :-) I had the Leederville pic in my head only, btw, still fresh enough!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, there's the small community of Denmark, New York.
ReplyDeletePlenty of Denmark's around Tom.
DeleteFascinating! I like the contrast between the geometrics and the carefree animals!
ReplyDeleteThanks J.
DeleteI thought I had seen this style before and it turns out to be true. I like the feeling that this is constructed like puzzle pieces being fitted together. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThanks ODP.
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been busy; I recognize that part for having overseas guests! Happy 2016 to all of you and you are lucky for having summer time!
Here it is cold, we have a bit of frost during the night but at 11:00 AM only 2 degree C is not warm. And for Christmas it was still 27 C! That's why I got such a bad flu I guess... still not completely over it; a kind of bronchitis is lingering but in a week I hope to be top fit again.
That was a fun discovery, for me the city of Denmark as well!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
That's been a long illness Mariette, hope you get better soon.
DeleteWe had an extremely hot day today with 40C!! Too terrible!!
Hey, Happy New Year Sami! I never knew there was a Denmark in Western Australia - the things you learn through blogging! Great mural!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Thanks Wren. Happy New Year to you too.
DeleteYes, there seem to be a lot of Denmarks around... The first time someone told me they were going on holiday to Denmark I thought they were going to Europe!
An interesting mural Sami. I hope you enjoyed your time in Denmark - it's so pretty down there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy, we had a lovely time in Denmark and surrounding area. We just had a cold spell when we were down there and had to light the fireplace every night.
