The Monday mural meme is posted on Monday at 12,01am, Perth,Western Australian time. Thanks, Sami.
Painted in January 2016 in Ron Mort Park, Molloy Street, Bunbury for Rediscover Bunbury, this feminine ballerina was inspired by Swan Lake and created by Brisbane based artist Gimiks Born (Johnny Radford).
In front of the mural we can see an Ankylosaurus - a dinosaur covered in bony armour for the kids to climb.
I was surprised that the ethereal beauty of the ballerina was next to a dinosaur on which children could climb. Rather an odd pairing, but if it brings families together to enjoy that mural, it is well worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is an old pairing. The dinosaur came first, the ballerina afterwards, but I suppose they could have chosen a mural more suitable for a kids park :)
Delete...I like both the mural and the sculpture, but they seem to be an odd combination. Thanks Sami for hosting.
ReplyDeleteOdd indeed Tom. A more childish like mural would have been more suitable for the kids park.
DeleteMaybe ballerinas are going the way of dinosaurs as Classical music and dance are obsoleted by new genres of music? Ok, maybe not.

I have to agree that neither ballet nor classical music are very popular. Thanks Mae
DeleteShe is lovely. Very dream like.
ReplyDeleteI like the colours used. Thanks Sharon
Deletethe ballerina is beautiful, and the sculprture amazing. I like it a lot. I wish you a nice week
ReplyDeleteMerci Arnaud, bonne semaine :)
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteLove the dinosaur for the kids to climb.
The ballerina looks like having a headache...
Hugs,
Mariette
Thanks Mariette. Maybe she got a headache when she saw what she had to look at everyday, lol.

DeleteSon preciosos y tienen mucho arte.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Gracias Antonia.
Deleteoh I like that, I'm betting children play on the dinosaur all the time.
ReplyDeleteApparently it's a very popular park with the kids. Thanks Amy
DeleteI'm afraid the attention stealing Ankylosaurus sculpture steals from the mural, which I'm sure is good.
ReplyDeleteThe styles don't really go together, thanks Andrew.
DeleteThat's a beautiful piece of art!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find.
Thank you for hosting, Sami. :)
Thanks Dee :)
DeleteA pintura e a escultura, um conjunto excepcional.
ReplyDeleteBoa semana
Obrigada Pedro, boa semana.
DeleteBeautiful mural, but to be honest I had to giggle that the dino has his own food in his own bowl!
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful to be an artist and have such ideas, mural and sculpture.
He can't go hungry, lol. Thanks Iris.
DeleteWhat an unsual combination, the soft painting and that robust dinosaur.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne :)
DeleteShe's lovely Sami.. not sure about the dinosaur, he's a little lumpy, bumpy.. another phobia of mine :) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace. He's too bulky to be in front of that pastel beauty, but he was there first :)
DeleteVery elegant. The dinosaur looks like a fun spot for kids.
ReplyDeleteI bet the kids love it, thanks Jackie
DeleteBallerinas and dinosaurs - now there's an odd combination. Maybe there will be a T. Rex in a tutu next time you go there!
ReplyDeleteStrange combination indeed David. Thanks :)
DeleteThank you:)
ReplyDeleteThis is really good
ReplyDeleteThanks Alice.
DeleteThank You Dear Sami
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia.
DeleteIt is a lovely mural and a cute dinosaur too!
ReplyDeleteOne appeals to the adults the other to the kids, thanks Pat :)
DeleteA delightful pairing.
ReplyDeleteThanks William.
DeleteInteresting. The lovely ballerina appears to be looking at the Ankylosaurus. He seems to have a similar curve of the back.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda :)
DeleteHmm, curious. A bony dinosaur together with a ballerina. . . I give up! :-)
ReplyDeleteNot a good pairing, I agree Mark 😁
Deletethat's fabulous. I love how it mirrors the cat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie.
