The Monday mural meme is posted on Monday at 12,01am, Perth,Western Australian time. Thanks, Sami.

Painted in January 2016 in Ron Mort Park, Molloy Street, Bunbury for Rediscover Bunbury, this feminine ballerina was inspired by Swan Lake and created by Brisbane based artist Gimiks Born (Johnny Radford).
In front of the mural we can see an Ankylosaurus - a dinosaur covered in bony armour for the kids to climb.

  1. I was surprised that the ethereal beauty of the ballerina was next to a dinosaur on which children could climb. Rather an odd pairing, but if it brings families together to enjoy that mural, it is well worth it.

    1. It certainly is an old pairing. The dinosaur came first, the ballerina afterwards, but I suppose they could have chosen a mural more suitable for a kids park :)

  2. ...I like both the mural and the sculpture, but they seem to be an odd combination. Thanks Sami for hosting.

    1. Odd indeed Tom. A more childish like mural would have been more suitable for the kids park.

  3. Maybe ballerinas are going the way of dinosaurs as Classical music and dance are obsoleted by new genres of music? Ok, maybe not.

  6. Dearest Sami,
Love the dinosaur for the kids to climb.
The ballerina looks like having a headache...

  9. I'm afraid the attention stealing Ankylosaurus sculpture steals from the mural, which I'm sure is good.

  12. Beautiful mural, but to be honest I had to giggle that the dino has his own food in his own bowl!
It must be wonderful to be an artist and have such ideas, mural and sculpture.

  16. Ballerinas and dinosaurs - now there's an odd combination. Maybe there will be a T. Rex in a tutu next time you go there!

  18. Interesting. The lovely ballerina appears to be looking at the Ankylosaurus. He seems to have a similar curve of the back.
