One of the most striking murals I found on my visit to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) , Manila, was this bright blue mural painted in 2017 for the Art BGC festival organized by the Bonifacio Arts Foundation (BAFI).
It's located at One Global Place building, on the corner of 5th Avenue and 26th Street, and was a collaborative work by ASEAN-ROK - Korean artists and artist from other Southeast Asian countries plus over one hundred local and expat volunteers.
The main Artists were: Auggie, Bunga, Bows, Xuan Ka, Perol, Pesey, Cyrus, Zero, Miguel, Nemo, Kim Si Yeong, Lee Sun Il, Hyun Nam, and Park Young-Gyun as Project Director
In each shelf are symbols from the different ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).

ReplyDeleteWhat a pity David, they attract a lot of tourists too.
DeleteWhat an incredible and unique collaboration. I immediately recognized the ASEAN symbol even before you showed it up close. I think you found a pure gem in this mural, Sami!!

ReplyDeleteVery special murals you show us here and I do presume this is in Manilla? You mentioned street names but no city nor country... Readers would want to know where.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

DeleteThat is so interesting. And what a great idea! There seem to be representations from all over the globe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee. At least the representations are from the "Asean" countries.
DeleteBeautiful, I think you can stand there for a long while studying this mural into detail.
ReplyDeleteYes, we were there for a while admiring the various symbols and trying to match them to various countries.
DeletePretty good. While Australia is a member of ASEAN, I think we are different status members to the original group.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Andrew, so I've just been reading about it.
DeleteBusy shelves! Interesting to see the symbols for the different countries - though I can't identify them all.
