Strawberry season is in full swing, and it reminded me when I went strawberry picking with some friends, exactly two years ago in a berry farm just north of the city of Perth.
It was a very hot but fun day, and I brought home 2 boxes of strawberries that cost us $5 a box, plus we could eat whatever we wanted.

Love the "have a berryful day"! 🍓
ReplyDeleteMy (Mum´s) strawberries were crap this "summer". Not even basil did grow...
We used to plant strawberries but the birds would eat more than we did.
DeleteThe ones I bought this week were awful, not even cream and Port wine could save them :)
Unbeatable with some cream. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteApart from cream I also had some Port wine :) Thanks SC
Delete...strawberry time is such a sweet time, but I'd rather buy them picked! That sure is a fancey field, generally we don't see coverings here. Thanks Sami, how about sharing a strawberry shortcake with me?
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom, it was fun picking them. I've never baked a strawberry shortcake before, not much of a baker, I prefer desserts.
DeleteI haven't picked my own since my daughter was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteThat was the first time I went strawberry picking David.
DeleteMorangos são uma delícia sempre. Lindas imagens.
ReplyDeleteObrigada Alice :)
DeleteLove fresh strawberries but hate anything made with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie :)
DeleteI'm with Jackie. I'll eat them fresh, still with their little green hats on them. But cut them up and add sugar, or make them into something, and I won't touch them. That's a really fancy farm. I have never seen anything like it, but I don't think strawberries grow very well in my part of the country.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. I do like to add cream at least, but I will eat them simple once in a while.
DeleteSomething I did many years ago in my youth. Hard work, but the strawberries were so delicious.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ♥
They seem to taste better if you pick them yourself :) Thanks Sandee
DeleteAdoro morangos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

Tambem gosto. Resto duma boa semana.
DeleteThat would have been fun Sami, would love to do it. Saw strawberries at market the other day, they were HUGE!
ReplyDeleteIt was a farm not far from you Grace. The last ones I bought weren't very sweet.
DeleteStrawberry season is a time to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteCertainly is Pat :)
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteThat was certainly a joy to go and harvest them fresh!
Hugs,
Mariette
We had a lot of fun and then lots of fresh strawberries. Thanks Mariette.
DeleteYou can't beat fresh strawberries!
ReplyDeleteThey are a great fruit Bill :)
DeleteCan't begin a day without some strawberries. :-)
ReplyDeleteI also have them quite frequently with yogurt, smoothies or with cream and Port wine.
DeleteEn España, en la provincia de Huelva hay buenas plantaciones de esta fruta.
ReplyDeleteMe encantan las fresas y las consumo bastante.
Gracias. Tambien me gustan las fresias.
DeleteStrawberry season here was in June and July.
ReplyDeleteHere it started in September, but we get strawberries almost the whole year around nowadays.
DeleteSo nice
ReplyDeleteThanks Rupam
DeleteLove strawberries with clotted cream mmmmm!
ReplyDeleteMe too Marianne :)
DeleteThat could be fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun Jim, thanks :)
DeleteThe grandchildren love strawberry picking.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
A great activity for kids. Thanks Jan.
DeleteOnce June (and early July) ends our strawberries are from out of state and taste like packing peanuts. How I'd love to dig into those!
ReplyDeletePacking peanuts, that's a good one Jeanie. The last ones I bought were tasteless, not sure if it depends on the farms where they come from.
