Monday Mural - Autumn leaves

Another mural from the town of Bunbury, painted for Re.Discover 2016, by Ian Mutch on the side walls of Trafalgars  Hotel & Pub, at 36 Victoria Street.

The artist was born in South Africa and is now based in the small beach town of Dunsborough (south west of Perth), and draws inspiration from animals, landscapes, travelling, stories and patterns.

  1. ...A wonderful one Sami, but it seems that I just raked up all of our leaves. Thanks for hosting.

    1. This one seems quite sad compared to the usual ones I post.
I'm glad we don't have many leaves to rake in Autumn :)

  2. Autumn leaves are usually so vivid — it’s interesting that this artist has made them so muted in color. Interesting mural.

    1. I think the dark background colour helps to make them appear even darker. Thanks Mae.

  4. I got the leaves, but I didn't quite understand the "flying babies/angels." It was still a lovely mural, and a definite conversation starter..

Sorry this is the last Monday Murals post until March. I'll be around, just not at Monday Murals.

    1. I tried to find something about the meaning of this mural, but I couldn't, so not sure what those flying babies represent.
I'll see you again in March for the Murals, and in I'll visit you of course Elizabeth :)

  5. here are autumn leaves that arrive a little prematurely (at least in your latitudes). i also like these little characters that fly too. there's a very nice feeling of movement and a very poetic mink. you can feel the wind ...

    1. How very sad what is happening in LA. Those murals were brilliant and a piece of history as they say. Thanks Mae.

  8. At times it is nice to not have a riot of colour. Simple and nice.

  9. Actually I can´t wait for Spring! But at least the cats and sheep (?) have some fun. A little pale for Autumn, too, but, well, maybe the artist is not really a fan, rather a Summer-lover?

    1. Can't really figure out what is flying around in that mural, lol.
Yes the leaves are a bit pale, or the wall behind a bit bland too.

  18. I love the leaves. Makes me feel like autumn (which we don't really get here in the desert so it's more like a dream of autumn for me)
