Monday Murals - Recycle - Bondi IV

More murals from Bondi Beach's "Graffiti Wall", taken during my visit to Sydney in October 2018.
Both relate to a very contemporary topic - Recycling - to contribute to the greening of our Planet.

If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you; just follow the Linky steps below.   Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters.  Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks, Sami.

  3. How can one not applaud the message conveyed in these murals? I am sure it is more effective than standard signs asking people not to litter etc. i wonder whether their success has been measured in any kind of quantifiable way?

  4. As an Earth Day baby, I applaud their use of these murals. They get the point across and raise awareness at the same time. I wonder if it keeps people from littering because they will be caught, or if it's because they truly want to save our planet.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. Unfortunately I still came across many young people who can't bother with recycling or who litter public places. It all depends on the education given at home too. But I think these signs do help to remind people of the importance of recycling, etc.

  9. They are pretty good. I wonder if it has an effect on NYE. It may not get as trashed now they cage up the beach partygoers. In the 1980s, we saw a car with its front wheels dropped over the wall.

    1. OMG Andrew, really over the top behaviour! I can imagine all those party goers won't much bother about leaving the beach clean. Unfortunately that only adds to more expenses for the council who passes it on to the taxpayer!

    1. I think it's to remind us not to throw rubbish in the sea as it could kill or injure the animals.

  12. The message is clear. Now an evaluation if it works.

  15. Great mural! It's a shame that people need to be reminded. We were brought up to clean up after ourselves.

    1. Thanks Linda. Me too, but I guess not everyone teaches their kids to respect others and the environment :(

  17. Maybe this is the best way to communicate with young people Sami, through street art. Whatever works to get the message across :)

  19. Estes murais para além de serem bem divertidos, são também um alerta para os perigos que espreitam o planeta, um simples gesto termina por ser um pequeno passo na luta contra a poluição que nos sufoca.
    Bom fim-de-semana!
