Monday Mural - Sailor Story

This mural painted by the Russian artist - Rustam Qbic - for Public Form 2016 in April,  in the Library building of Curtin University, Perth.
It's entitled "Sailor Story"  and you can see a lonely man on a paddle boat filled with books while battling the heavy seas, symbolizing the learning process and the forces that get in the way of learning.

  1. Thats a very nice one with lots of details to see more closely rowing with goose feather pens and exchangeable head. The book that makes the water is also very well executed as is the choice of colors. A great one.

  6. I like that he happily smiles - a symbol for having at least the chance to learn? But why is his head ripped off then?

  7. That was a really unique (and slightly weird) mural. I certainly enjoyed reading about it, and of course, since books were involved, it piqued my interest.

So many unique details, including the flying hat, the pen quills, and the hand guiding (or perhaps obstructing) the sailor in the sea. Truly awesome.

  8. Shows you the power of a good book intersecting with the power of imagination. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
