When we attended an open-air jazz at the Wireless Hill Reserve, in the suburb of Ardross, in mid November, I found a new mural.
Painted by Joanna Brown, a West Australian illustrator with a love of all things botanical, on the walls of the public toilets.

That's a truly beautiful way to liven up a public restroom area. These flowers are stunning and the side panels add lots of color. It is a really lovely mural and a beautiful find.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth, I'm glad she painted the side entrances too.
DeleteBonitos murais. A Sami deve ter centenas deles. : )
ReplyDeleteBom ano novo.

Obrigada Catarina. Estou sempre a encontrar novos murais :)

Delete...the flowers pop against the black background. Thanks Angie for hosting the party, stay well in 2022.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. The black background was a good choice.
DeleteGood strong colours in the work. I expect Wireless Hill has historical reasons for its name, but I also wonder if an effort is made to not have visible wires and keep it wireless.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew.
DeleteWireless Hill was the site of Applecross Wireless Station in 1912, used for telecommunications during World War One and World War Two, using Morse Code to communicated with ships off the Australian coast using a mast that was 112 metres tall.
In the old Engine Room of the Station, is now the Wireless Hill Museum.
Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThanks William :)
