Monday Murals - Hummingbirds

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.

Thanks Sami

The next 4 murals are located in Margaret River's main street - Bussell Highway.

The first mural of a Sword-billed Hummingbird (Ensifera ensifera) was painted in a shopfront of "Priceline Pharmacy". Titled "The balancing act" it was painted by Chris Nixon from @nixon__studio and Andrew Frazer from @andrewfrazerdesigns.

This second mural was painted on the walls of the "IGA supermarket" by Australian artists Kyle Hughes-Odgers and Ian Mutch.  (I has posted this one before in 2016 - back then it was probably on of the first murals seen in Margaret River).

This third and fourth murals are painted on the wall of the gift shop "Enchanted"

    1. Thanks Tom. They are independent grocers and we have a lot of them scattered all over the city.

  2. The hummingbird mural is fun: the artist chose to depict one of them upside down in a way that it could definitely not fly. I love watching hummingbirds, especially in places where there are many species (like in Arizona).

Hummingbirds are native only to the Americas, and as far as I know they haven’t been introduced into Australia. So maybe the artist has never seen them.

    1. They named the mural hummingbirds, but I also don't think we have them in Australia. We have honey-eaters which also have a long beak and fly quickly between flowers eating the pollen. Thanks Mae

  3. Dear Sami, it's great that there are so many wonderful murals in Margaret River. Since hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds, the hummingbird mural is of course my favorite :-D But I also find the others very beautiful and well done.
Have you changed something in your linkup or have they had an update? Because today everything worked differently than usual and I can only see the thumbnails when I click on the button... In any case, I hope the link to my post works.
All the best, have a nice Sunday and a good start to the new week, Traude

    1. Thank you Traude. I was also surprised at the new format, they must have changed it. I much preferred the old format when you see the little pics. Enjoy the rest of the week

  5. Magical Margaret River! And I love the upside down hummingbird. They can really do anything. And when they whiz by your ear you can really hear them hum! Thank you for bringing all that back to me with this beautiful post, Sami.

    1. Probably not, but the Australian honey-eaters are similar to the hummingbirds. Thanks Andrew

  16. lovely murals, Sami. it seems they messed up something, not only are the thumbnails not visible unless you 'click here' - which I missed for a few minutes ;-) but also a link to "go back to the blog" leads you to linky page. why do they change a winning horse??? :-)

    1. Thanks Klara. I noticed the change and not sure if Linky changed something or if I did something wrong when I put up this link. Will see next week what happens.

    1. Thanks Linda. I didn't know they had IGA's in the States (Tom also mentioned them). We have them all over, I find them more expensive, but they are open longer hours if needed.
