Thanks, SamiVarious murals I spotted around the city of Aveiro, when I visited Portugal in March 2023.
Aveiro, lies on the edge of Ria de Aveiro, a saltwater lagoon farmed for its seaweed, salt and fish. This mural shows the salt harvesting, women with baskets of fish on their heads and the "moliceiro", the traditional boat of the Ria (estuary) similar to the Venetian gondolas.
...these mural dress up the wall well. Thanks Sami for hosting, enjoy your week.

DeleteSome of this felt a bit disjointed to me. I did like the cat, of course (grin). Thanks for these, even though I really didn't understand much of what I was seeing. And thanks for hosting, too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I will be by today to see your July wrap up, too.
Some are a bit odd, that's why I just bunched them up in one post. Thanks Elizabeth :)

DeleteJoondalup 2013 - I tried Sushi. With chicken. But the seaweed it was in... oh, so "fishy"! Ingo served me fish in a cat´s bowl last week. That was even yummy.
ReplyDeleteI like especially the bridge!
I was never a fan of sushi until we started frequenting a Japanese restaurant near us, wow, what a difference, now I love it! Thanks Iris
DeleteYou found a lot of nice murals again. But yes the eye of the master. Great to view Sami.
ReplyDeleteThanks SC :)
DeleteI think the second mural represents evolution occurring before our eyes!
ReplyDeleteThanks David :)
DeleteA good assortment of murals in that area. I like the 1st one best.
ReplyDeleteI like it too and the fact that it's done in tiles. Thanks Pat
DeleteSuch a great variety of murals for one town.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. I was surprised with the quantity of murals I found in that city.
DeleteDear Sami, these are wonderful murals again - and A LOT OF!
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the one that shows the salt harvesting. In my today's post, I'm going to tell you about an ancient Roman settlement, but I don't know if the reconstructed Roman wall paintings would have been enough for your linkup. That's why I've added a few murals from Costa Rica that haven't been shown before.
All the best and have a great new week!

An amazing Roman settlement Traude! Yes, of course, those were the original murals from centuries ago. Anything can be a mural :)
DeleteDear Sami,
Deletethank you very much for your comment here and in my blog and thanks for your inspiration: Your comment made me include a map of the Roman Empire at the time of its greatest expansion in my post to give my readers an idea of HOW HUGE it was.
