Photos taken about 1 year ago in the inner west suburb of Petersham in Sydney.
On the side walls of Le-Mans Car Bay repair shop, 116 Audley St/ corner Trafalgar Street, artist unknown.
This building is just across the road from the murals I posted last week at Petersham Station.
If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you;
just follow the Linky steps below. Once you start looking you find murals everywhere.
Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds posted this week. Monday mural meme is posted at 12,01am Monday, Western Australian time. Thanks, Sami.
What a lucky find. The DCA in the auto became clear once I saw the entire mural. There's no doubt what this mural is telling. I like the car, too. After looking at this for a few minutes, I'm sure there's a great deal of symbolism and special meaning in that mural.
ReplyDeleteI always forget to tell you how much I appreciate you hosting this event each week. Unfortunately, next week I host my own event. It's every month on the second, and unfortunately, next week it interferes with when I post Monday Murals. Not to worry, though. I'll be back on the following Sunday (in my world).
Thanks for participating Elizabeth, will see you the following week then :)
DeleteSami, this is spam. The dems are NOT planning to overthrow the govt.
DeleteThe car in the mural has a really nice retro vibe! Very nice find.
ReplyDeleteI have no mural this week.
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae :)
Delete...Le-Mans was a wonderful brand for Pontiac, a nice tribute. Thanks Sami for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom :)
DeleteThe car is so good. I wonder if the the numberplate with DCA has the initials of the artist.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this, Developing Arts and Culture, http://www.dca.wa.gov.au/DevelopingArtsandCulture/publicart/forms-of-public-art/
DeleteAndrew, DCA is simply the artist's name: Duro Cholo Arte, it is written on the wall...
DeleteThanks Andrew, yes that would be it :)
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteYes, the artist's name is big enough written on the wall: Duro Cholo Arte and maybe the license tag DCA refers to the same?
It's a wild mural.
Hugs,
Mariette
You are quite right Mariette, I looked at it, but didn't really see it :)

DeleteThat's a very appropriate mural for a car repair shop.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, yes, it really goes well there.
DeleteMaybe because I just googled Jan Josef Liefers on a mural Ingo took pics of (yes, another hunter here now! :-)...) - your mural makes me think of Elvis´ Pink Cadillac from the movie Knocking on Heaven´s door, yum. Also with Til Schweiger!
ReplyDeleteI remember Pink Cadillac, thanks Iris :)
DeleteIt is a funny one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mariette :)
DeleteLove the feel of this, so retro. Love the colour scheme.

DeleteIf that's the mechanic, I'd be afraid to go inside.
ReplyDeleteYes it is Linda. I think he must be nice and kind, at least he's got a pink mural.

I certainly have loads of photos of murals, I'm always on the lookout for them and luckily Perth has quite a lot of them. Enjoy the rest of the week too.
