The mural has been done in a mix of paint and tile work.
Below the artwork is an electrical box that also got a bit of a colour treatment. From the signature squiggle I presume it was done by the same artist.

AS FROM MONDAY 5TH FEBRUARY I WILL BE TAKING OVER THE MONDAY MURAL MEME.
just testing:
I love this particular piece. I think the tiles add so much beauty to it. The close ups show how detailed the tiles are. My eye was also drawn to the electrical box even before you mentioned it. When I first saw it, I thought it was part of the wall. It fits SO well with the main mural.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth, it's quite a different sort of mural with the tiles and painting. I liked the electrical box too, it looks very feminine :)
ReplyDeleteClever to paint tiles as part of the work. I really like the traffic light box.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew, makes it look different from the usual murals.
DeleteWell, he doesn´t have the friendliest look, but I certainly do like the tiles! As the electrical box, such a nice combo and such cute fishes.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the fisherman doesn't look too "pretty" but the electric box makes up for it :)
DeleteÉ fabuloso!
ReplyDeleteObrigada Paula.
Delete...great ones. For the first one, you need to step back to see the 'big picture.'
ReplyDeleteYes, it is better looked at from afar. Thanks Tom.
DeleteVery nice ones, it certainly brightens up an ugly grey electricity box.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne.
DeleteYes Portugal is the tile country in the world. Nice ones.
ReplyDeleteThat's right S.C. making use of different tiles to show them off.
DeleteWhat a stunning mural, Sami. Thanks for sharing it. I can't imagine the vision and the skill required to do this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. It can't be easy to plan such large scale art.
