Various murals painted on electrical boxes on the streets of Hobart taken during our trip to Tasmania in January 2026.

Electric utility boxes are the same here in the US as the ones on your blog post, which is neat! And they are muralized in both continents.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mae, a good idea to make them prettier :)
Delete...Sami, you found a wonderful collection of utility boxes. They have become urban canvases. Thanks for hosting, I wish you a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom :)
DeleteThese are great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jim.
DeleteThey are very colourful and much better than grey boxes.
ReplyDeleteCertainly are Andrew :)
DeleteDear Sami, I was so happy to see your pictures from Hobart—both the murals on the walls from the previous post and now these imaginatively painted electrical boxes. Firstly, it's a reminder of our dream trip to Tasmania, and secondly, the situation with colorful electrical boxes in Austria is still quite sad – they're simply vandalized (and usually ugly) or just grey instead of being beautified by artists... So I'm really happy about the colorful examples you're showing.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Traude

Lovely that this post reminded you of your recent visit to Tasmania. What a pity your electrical boxes don't get painted. Have a good week Traude
DeleteAqui há uma iniciativa em tudo semelhante - decorar os pontos de recolha de lixo com street art.
ReplyDeleteChapelada!!

Que boa ideia Pedro. Boa semana :)
DeleteOh!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the first symbolize when your kids are all grown up and move out?
The poor pot! Very well done! My Brother will feel that way soon, too! Big Niece´ll turn 16 this year!
Oh, they are all so wonderful!
I found some, too in Perth with Ingo (as in getting dragged along)...
Don't know Iris, maybe :) Great that Ingo accompanied you to Perth and you found more murals. You'll have murals for the rest of the year now :)
DeleteLoved all street mural works :) Thanks a lot for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week ahead.
Thanks Rupam. Have a good week too
DeleteSo bright, cheery and fun! This summer I'm going to photograph some of the painted utility boxes we have in Edmonton too and use them for Mural Mondays!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Debra. Look forward to seeing them :)
DeleteIt seems that that there are more street-artist in the places you go. I rarely find such wonderful painted or sprayed works. Have a good time and all the best
ReplyDeleteVioletta
Thanks Violetta. A lot of artists here, but the city councils also pay overseas artists to come and paint here.
DeleteI like the 1st one best but they are all good to see, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat.
DeleteInteresting. I especially like the first one and also the seasons.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda.
