A surprising find while walking around Margaret River during our long weekend away in May 2024.
Located at the Mosaic Cafe, behind "The Margaret River Bakery", at 89 Bussell Highway, I spotted a mural of the singer "Prince" and next to it some quirky creatures which I couldn't figure out their meaning - another "Prince riding a bull"?
And not sure why, but I didn't get a full on photo of the face on the pink mural next to Prince...
Aren’t those creatures from Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild things Are”? At least that’s what they look like to me. Nice murals, Sami! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I am laughing right now. Didn't see your comment, when I posted my comment :):)
DeleteThanks to you both for your comment about those characters. Not familiar with the book or author.
Delete...Prince was popular universally! Thanks for hosting, Sami.
ReplyDeleteLove the Prince mural - very realistic! The other ones might be from, "Where the Wild Things Are", by Maurice Sendak. I remember reading the story to my daughter and that's how I guessed. Thanks for hosting and Be Well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Green Comotion.
DeleteI really like what seem to me to be little devils. Have a nice week
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito
DeletePrince is a very cool character though tragedy
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare
DeleteThe Prince mural is so nicely done! Great find.
ReplyDeleteI can see how the pink wall was missed. ;) It happens. There have been a couple of times when I've realized (much later) that there was more art near the mural I photographed.:)
Thank you so much for hosting, Sami.
Have a good week. :)
Thanks Dee. Enjoy your week too.
DeleteIt is an excellent likeness to Prince. Yes, the other mural is quite puzzling. Sometimes we just aren't meant to understand things.
ReplyDeleteI also thought the Prince mural looked good.
DeleteWhat an excellent likeness!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie.
DeleteWonderful art!
ReplyDeleteThanks Magiceye.

DeleteI was 14 years old, in Louviers with a guest-family and so much in love with the 18-year old son I watched "Purple Rain" in French with him just to cuddle up.
ReplyDeleteSadly he moved to Rouen to study the next week so.... not a love-story.
Thank you for the memory :-)
That's a sweet story Iris. What we do for love, lol.
DeleteAmazing mural work,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for hosting.
Thanks Rupam.
DeleteI still miss things. I do try to remember to walk around a mural or look behind, but it happens.
ReplyDeleteI think I was in a hurry to meet up with friends... thanks Jackie
DeleteI love the tribute to Prince and that little prince on the bull reminds me of a childhood storybook called "The Little Prince".
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. I had also thought of the "Little Prince" when I saw it.
DeletePrince & friends makes for quite a mural, Sami.
ReplyDeleteSure does. Thanks Pat
DeleteLovely! And I learnt something new from the comments 😀. My entry here:

DeletePrince was a great performer. The other picture is definitely in the style of Maurice Sendak.
