Murals from Marechal Carmona Park in Cascais, Portugal.
Photos taken during my visit to Portugal in March/April this year.
The two-metre wide "Plastic World" sculpture in the park, was created by Carole Purnelle and Nuno Maia, and it was originally exhibited at the "Sculpture ArteMar" at Estoril Beach (Portugal) in 2009 and won first prize.
In 2014 it was exhibited at the Sculpture by the Sea in Cottesloe, Perth.

...I like the colorful world best, thanks Sami for hosting. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom :)
DeleteThat Plastic World was amazing. I loved the birds painted on the utility boxes, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth, it's a great piece of art indeed.
DeleteCute paintings of rooster and birds. Have a wonderful new week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, you too.
DeleteSuddenly every utility box in the entire world has become a surface for inspiring great works of art, or even minor works of art! How amazing that an idea has such power.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
It is a great idea, glad that these utility boxes get painted. Thanks Mae
DeleteThe cartoon like rooster is a cute art
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare :)
DeleteLove the plastic globe. I can make out the plates but not the other 'stuff'
ReplyDeleteI think it could be plastic bottles. Thanks Lydia.
DeleteLots of colour in the green of Cascais
ReplyDeleteYes, plenty of colour. Thanks Andrew
DeleteE assim se transformam objectos feios em obras de arte.
ReplyDeleteBoa semana
Obrigada Pedro, boa semana
DeleteThe rooster is cute.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, the world. I bought chicoree, cherries, melon - everything was in plastic :-(
I managed to get a cucumber without plastic - wo-hoo. Ingo got peppers - more plastic. Bread ... in plastic. It´s a shame.
There are shops you can bring your own containers - more expensive and Ingo read an article, most shops buy like others and fake non-plastic-selling... What a world we create...
Sadly to many vegetables and fruits are wrapped in plastic, don't know why? I avoid buying those. Thanks Iris.
DeleteAlthough I love all the bright colors, the rooster is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan.
DeleteAh lovely to see the Portuguese Rooster mural 😀 . I have a refrigerator magnet of it. The plastic world thing - I recently saw something like that in Frankfurt. I wonder if it’s the same exhibition moving from city to city.
ReplyDeleteHere’s my entry:

The rooster is lovely. I wonder if the "plastic world" travels the world, I hope so.
DeleteI run a bit out of murals so I look at other colorful things but you know how to find very great ones as you prove here again. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks SC. You can participate with anything you wish.
DeletePlastic world sends a strong message. There is way too much plastic in the world. I wish artists could paint utility boxes here. It would make a big difference.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. It's something small, but does make a difference to the visual.
DeleteCreative use of utility boxes for murals. Doesn't everyone like chickens?
ReplyDeleteNot a common subject for murals, but they are cute. Thanks TFG.
DeleteI like the chickens on the utility boxes. They really cheer the area up nicely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :)
