Murals seen when we went for a walk at Marshal Carmona Park (Parque Marechal Carmona Park) in Cascais during my visit to Portugal in March/April this year. The park is names after Marshal Carmona, a militar and former Portuguese President.
Located 10 min walk away from the Cascais marina, this park dates to the 1940's, and is a pleasant park, where you will find a lake with ducks, swans and turtles, a peacock strutting around the gardens, playgrounds, lots of statues, a greenhouse, a library, a bar, and a petting zoo with rabbits, birds, guinea- pigs, chickens, etc...
The real peacock |
That first mural is amazing. I love the calla lily and the peacock. They drew my eye first. The colors were beautiful and cooling, too. The white building looked hot in comparison. And to think it is where the animals are kept. I really enjoyed the sculptures. You found a lot to enjoy in that park, Sami. Thanks for sharing and hosting.
ReplyDeleteThat is the back of the petting zoo, the front is more open with lots of glass. I think that area could be storage rooms, toilets, etc. The peacock is beautiful, must be painted for the peacock that roams around the park.
DeleteBeautiful art. Looks like a nice place to spend some time or to bring children
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a big park with lots of activities for kids. Thanks Cloudia
Delete...the first mural is my favorite, I love the colors. Thanks for hosting, have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom. Enjoy the rest of your week
DeleteThe black and white murals are very impressive. I like the green colors too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Monday Murals!
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae.
DeleteThese Cascais murals are a fine harvest. Although they differ in style, they're all stunning. And the park looks pleasant (kwarkito)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito. The park is lovely, great for kids and a great place to walk around for a few hours.
DeleteWhat a lovely way to enliven those drab concrete buildings zoos have. Funny how looking at the animals used to be enough - our zoo has had a big make over so the buildings are pretty flash now...
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia, nowadays zoos are nicer places.
DeleteThese are fantastic sketches of various animals around the region. I love the peacock the best.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare :)
DeleteI love the vivid green and the peacock. For the black and white ones, I like how the window wasn’t an interruption.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan.
DeleteLove the nature mural. So peaceful. Great black and white drawings of animals.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, they are different but both are pretty.
DeleteThe peacock really dominates the colourful mural. I like the line paintings. What initially seems simple art is actually quite complex with a great result.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew :)
DeleteI love the animal murals. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patrick :)
Obrigada Pedro
DeleteSuch different styles - I like both. The peacock is impressive - I remember one in Caversham, he was quite... protective of his grounds!
ReplyDeleteThe other style represents animal´s life very well, I guess.
Thanks Iris. I like Caversham wildlife park :)
DeleteSo beautiful , Loved it
ReplyDeleteThank you Rupam.
DeleteGreat murals but I dedect sometimes a little sadness in the B&W ones.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact they are just black and white makes them sadder looking compared to the other colourful mural nearby.
DeleteFun murals at the zoo. Looks like you had a good time there.
ReplyDeleteThanks TFG, it was a nice park.
DeleteI especially love the black and white!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie.
DeleteSuch a pretty place with lots to see and do. I love the garden mural with the peacock.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon, the peacock is very pretty.
DeleteDear Sami, that really looks like a nice park. I was in Cascais years ago on our trip to Portugal, but we missed Marshal Carmona Park back then. And so I don't know the pretty murals that you show from there. Murals with animals are always the best anyway, I think. I also have animal-painted walls for you again!
ReplyDeleteWarm July greetings and all the best, Traude

Thanks Traude. I don't know how long the murals have been there either, as I was in that park 4 years ago and I didn't see the murals.
DeleteI love the murals especially the ones that look like drawings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, they are very nicely done.
DeleteThey are all very nice murals.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the coloured ones best.
Happy July wishes.
All the best Jan

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda
DeleteSuper colorful dearest Sami I love it so much! I hope all is well there in Perth. Its very warm here now in Barcelona and will be super hot as they say by the end of the month. Wish you all the best and I missed your blog! I'm still very slow on blogging but love visiting you my friends time to time!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear from you Stevenson. I can see from your instagram that you are having a great time in Europe. I'm happy for you, enjoy it! We are in the middle of Winter with lots of rain, but not too cold.
DeleteWonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThanks William.
DeleteThe decoration of this public park is very good. I like so much the pictures of the green wall.
