Monday Mural - Land, Sea and Air

During our trip to the Central Coast of New South Wales I came across a few murals, and here is the biggest one found at Woy Woy.
You can read about our trip here.

This 35 x 20mt (115 x 65ft) mural was painted in 2009 on the outside wall of the Deepwater Plaza shopping centre by Australians Paul Haggith and Simon Sawell.
It's named "Land, Sea and Air - Whale Dreaming".
I should probably have crossed the road to capture the whole thing...
It's very well suited to the area, with the whales that cross the sea in this area, fish, seagulls, pelicans and native flowers.

If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.
Just follow the Linky steps below.   Be sure to link back to this blog and visit

Looking forward to your mural finds this week. Thanks, Sami.

  3. Whales and sea birds are some of my favorite creatures -- those are lovely murals of them. The most endangered species in your photos is K-Mart. Almost all of the US ones have closed, and definitely all the ones that were formerly near us. Maybe they have different owners in Australia!

    1. Thanks Mae, I thought it was a great mural too.
K-Mart was bought out from the American company by Wesfarmers and they have 228 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

  4. Aside from the whale, they are a bit different being single images.

  5. Those are all beautiful ones! The whale looks so joyful, the shadows are well done, too.

  6. This is a lovely mural, Sami. I can't believe K-Mart allowed this, since it would have been painted over in the states. It just goes to show how much more enlightened Australia is to wall art than that in the states.

    1. I assume the outside walls belong to the shopping centre anyway, there's a lot more shops indoors, that's probably just K-mart's back wall. Wall art is very popular here and new murals coming up all the time.

    1. Sorry Traudel, not having any luck entering link manually either. I've sent Linky tools an email to see what could be wrong, but expect that due to the States being quite behind our time, nothing will be done until tomorrow.

  8. Love the flowers, great idea. I have trouble to get on your linky list must be a bug somewhere.
