Baby Shower & cat anniversary

My son and daughter in law's baby shower was held this afternoon.
It was originally meant to be held at the beach park near their home, but due to the weather prevision for wind and rain, this morning it was changed to their house.
It wasn't the traditional shower just for the ladies, they decided to include the male partners too.

It was a lovely afternoon with around 30 of their friends, lots of food - a table full of savoury food and a table full of sweets - funny games and in the end the opening of the gifts.

The Zucchini and Avocado dip and Olive Tapenade that I made
Devilled Eggs and veggie sticks for the dips
Sara is very talented, and she baked and iced a cake for baby J.

And I just remembered this morning that my cats were born 9 years ago yesterday.
Here are Shelley, Twiggy and the ginger male is Fluffy.
I was going through some of the latest cat photos and all I could find was photos of them sleeping...they do sleep a lot - eat and sleep -  no wonder they are so chubby!

    1. Thank you Mariette. Yes, just 2 months to go, maybe even less as Sara is huge, so baby might be born early...

  5. Congratulations! This event makes you a grandmother! Your daughter-in-law is beautiful!
We've been rained out on the last two kids' birthday parties and had to move them to Sunday because of it. Going inside was not an option for us. I really like the idea of including men in baby showers, it signals the shared responsibility young couples are taking on behalf of their kids.
Your kitties look very content to just be YOUR pets! We have six - half are lively despite their age, and the others are lazy couch potatoes. I love them all!

    1. Thanks J, 2 months to go until I'm a real grandmother. I also thought it was a good idea to have the men at the party. My cats are real couch potatoes!

  6. Oh how fun. I loved all the duckies, and of course, the open til date. One nice thing is, they certainly look like they have plenty of room to entertain everyone. You certainly went all out on your end of the food, too.

Loved the photos of the cats. Happy birthday to them all. They are all beautiful. Bleubeard has never had a weight problem, but Squiggles has a tendency to overeat. I had to put him on a diet so he would slim down.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. Most of the older houses have big gardens and they are lucky to have a big patio where the party was held. You have to give me some tips on how to slim my cats, they are always asking for more food...

    1. Sure Sara I'll email it, it was something I saw on pinterest. Thanks for the wishes for the cats, happy they should be they are very spoiled, not sure being chubby is too good for their health, I'm trying to get them to lose weight.
