Looking forward to your mural finds this week. Thanks Sami.

Some of the 25 electrical boxes seen in the town of Silves in southern Portugal during our holidays in July 2022.

They were painted in 2020, through the initiative of the Urban art program in partnership between the Municipality of Silves, and street artist Hélder José "Bamby" and a few other artists.

  3. Some of these are quite lovely. Most impressive use of the utility boxes as their canvases. I just wish they would do that in my city. I'm also delighted you are hosting this fun weekly event.

  6. Utility boxes definitely make a perfect host for really imaginative design work. We have a number of them in our town that are similarly decorated. Yes, they are murals but also fit a category all their own.

    Thanks for hosting!

  12. They are all so beautiful!! I think the fisherman is my fav (despite I don´t like fish much and Ingo bored be "to death" with fishing in Carnarvon, thanks to books I´m still alive).
Here we had one very beautiful one from artist Ente on a box (I showed you 2020) - Telekom put their ad over it, so sad).

    1. The fisherman is a great one, looks like it could be on a canvas hanging in people's homes. What a pity Telekom put their advert over the mural.

  18. It really does make sense to add beauty and charm to these utilitarian objects found in every town and city. We should adopt the practice here.

The fisherman one caught Eddie' eye, he enjoys fishing when the weather is good, it's much too cold at the moment.
    Enjoy your January days.
