Also in the Kreuzberg quarter, just outside the Tor Underground Station, and not far from the Jewish Museum, this mural from American artist Shepard Fairey, aka "Obey" was painted in 2014 and can be found at 28 Mehringplatz, Berlin.
His murals usually have the colours black, white and red and can be described as a mix of graffiti propaganda pop art. (In Sydney he used green in his mural - link below)
...make love not war, count me in! This is a message needed now more than ever. Thanks Sami for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom :)
DeleteI really like obey's murals. I don't know why, it seems to me that his design reminds me of a Rod Stewart record called every picture tells a story. I'm suddenly thinking about that now. I would have to check it out. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Kwarkito
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito. Maybe the symmetry of the design :)
DeleteI like the alteration of the old slogan: make ART not war. It’s neat the way he uses an old-fashioned commercial art style that was suitable for printing on cardboard boxes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Monday Murals!
