Murals - I like birds

This gigantic mural entitled "I like birds" is literally a 5 minute drive from my workplace in the suburb of Como, along the Manning Road On-ramp that joins the Kwinana Freeway to the southern suburbs.

I never take the freeway home, opting to take a less busy route, but the other day on my way to the chiropractor, where it was quicker to take the freeway, I decided to park the car in the Mount Henry Tavern car park, just before the ramp and take some photos.

Commissioned by Main Roads Western Australia, the mural was painted in 2020 by sculptor Steve Tepper.  The design of the artwork was a collaboration between Steve Tepper and Marian Scholten.

Steve Tapper is best know for his sculptures, some of them can be found around the South Perth area and is also know as a furniture designer.

I love murals and street art. 1. Wow. You have a plethora of birds to share with us this week, Sami. I'm sure you know by now my favorite is the black swan. However, these are all very well done. So glad you found these and showed close-ups, too.

  6. Dearest Sami,
Those look very nice and add color to their surroundings. Great explanation also by text added to it. The names Tepper and Scholten both sound like being from Dutch origin.
Glad you stopped there. You only mention: gigantic mural but any indication of what height we're looking at here?
    Hugs,

Not that I was out, went to work and was sent home because I had a sore throat, but no colleagues available to work. So the boss had to work for me!

    1. The Willy wagtail is one of my favourite birds, always wagging their tails and they eat bugs.
I posted a video on Youtube with my husband feeding one in our backyard.
