Monday Murals - Katara Cultural Village 1

Hello. I'm home and back with Monday Murals, after a 3 week visit to Portugal, primarily to participate in a 4 generations birthday party, which included my birthday. I landed in Perth on Friday night and still feeling jet-lagged, but it takes me a week to get back to normal.

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks Sami

Three murals from the Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar:
The glass tile mosaic wall art, found on one of Katara's buildings, glimmers under the sun and was designed to look like paint spilling onto the floor from the top of the building.

On the steps going up to the amphitheatre is this "Van Gogh" like mural. I couldn't find the name of the artist, and haven't found anything online either.

"Without borders" , a mural by Brazilian artist Kelvin Koubik. It was unveiled in October 2022, as part of the World cup murals project in Katara.

  3. Dear Sami, I'm glad you arrived home safely. I hope you had a wonderful family birthday celebration and a wonderful reunion with your loved ones! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your jet lag will soon be over.

You're showing us absolutely fantastic murals. This mosaic picture with the "extension" on the floor is brilliant, but the other pictures are also a real feast for the eyes. Today I'm sending you the murals from my last two posts.

All the best from Austria, Traude

    1. Thanks Jackie. How lovely, enjoy it. Hopefully you will get better weather, we got a lot of rain, more than usual and even had a storm the day before my departure, with winds of 170km that knocked down plenty of trees in parks and streets (mainly in Cascais).

  16. That first mural is a very complicated mosaic but in the tradition of the Moorish world. Beautiful.
