  2. Ganesha and birds — fantastic images for a mural! These are beautiful.

Question: do you need to rent a car when you go to Bali? How do you find places to stay? Maybe we will go there some day.

    Thanks for hosting Monday Murals.

    1. Hi Mae. We found iur accommodation through airbnb and booking.com. For our first stay in Seminyak I asked the host if he could recommend a driver to pick us up from the airport. Eventually we needed 2 drivers as my daughter was arriving 2h later than us and that driver got a friend to pick them up. He then was also the one that took us to Ubud and drove us around. They tend to communicate via WhatsApp.
I wouldn't recommend you drive in Bali at all, traffic is chaotic, roads are narrow, it can be quite hair-raising with motorbikes weaving between cars, kids and dogs on the verge of the roads... The Balinese seem to have loads of patience to drive in those conditions, so better leave the driving to them.

    2. Thanks, Sami! We are really thinking about a trip there. It’s MUCH further from the US.

  3. I especially like the toucan and the parrot, but the Ganesha was quite impressive, too. These murals feel so very "local."

I am not sure what happened, but it took over 30 minutes to load my image today. Eventually, I had to get it off my computer because the web image wouldn't load.

  5. They are pretty and colourful, I particularly like the bird.

  6. Ah, the Hindu influence. Some of the birds are very well painted.

  7. It's surprising that they have chosen birds on Central and South America when they have so many attractive species of their own.

  21. Loved the toucans (and the little gecko)!

  22. Oh, sweet the gecko, dear Sami! What amazes me, however, are the toucans in a Balinese restaurant - I think they only occur on the American continent, but not in Asia... But maybe it has something to do with the American coffee theme, after all, the murals are there yes in a coffee shop...(?)

  25. Thanks to everyone that participated and commented. It takes me ages to visit and reply to all on my mobile (cell phone), so I won't be giving everyone an individual reply. Sorry I wasn't able to comment on Linda's and Marianne 's blog, but somehow their blogs request I sign in to google, but I'm signed in for other blogs, so can't figure out what else to do.
