Monday Mural - Abstracts at Curtin Uni

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week. Thanks Sami.

Even though I still have a few more murals from Berlin, I'm moving back to Perth this time, with two murals from Curtin University, Perth's largest university.

The first abstract mural, painted on Koorliny Way, (meaning ‘movement’ in Noongar) in May this year by Perth artist Sioux Tempest, to commemorate the launch of the university's new Exchange precinct - one measuring 50mt long (164ft) and the other 35mt long (115ft).

The other abstract/geometric mural painted at Curtin University, was painted by American street artist Alex Brewer, AKA Hense for Form Public 2016.

This time the mural was painted on the ceiling of a pedestrian passageway connecting the university campus - a huge 60mt (200ft) x 18mt (60ft) artwork.

  1. These are extremely large murals. I was glad you also shared the drone shot because it put the first mural into perspective. I love the shape of it, too. That campus is FILLED with interesting architecture and sculptures. What a fabulous place to be able to visit. Thanks for sharing these and thanks for hosting, Sami. It is good to be back, too.

    1. Thanks to your diligence in finding the name of the building in my mural, I went to the school districts and learned there used to be two distinct school districts. Before consolidation, the Bronson high school mascot was Bulldogs. After consolidation, they are now known as the Eagles. Thanks for finding this, Sami.

  6. I thought we might have to start a crowd funding to buy you a drone, but there you go. You have a drone photo. I like the second mural on the ceiling. Maybe you had to lie on your back to take that one.
