I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you. Just follow the Linky steps below. Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere. The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week. Thanks, Sami.
Series of murals seen in Ellenbrook - a "rural" suburb north-east of Perth - painted on the hoardings around the constructions site of the new railway and bus station.
Ellenbrook will be the terminus station on the Morley - Ellenbrook railway line, which starts at Bayswater Station, a project where Jose is working at the moment. Construction started in January this year and will be opened to the public in 2024.
The various murals at the "Parkway Artway Artworks" have been inspired by colours, patterns, people, plants, animals and landscapes that make Ellenbrook unique. The Parkway is a street that links the town centre with the residential and park areas beyond.
We've been without internet since Saturday last week and it was just fixed this Saturday. With the Anzac Day long weekend, and Jose not calling our internet provider for a few days... the result was they only sent a technician this past Saturday. It was a quick fix, the outside connection near the road had been chewed by a mouse apparently. Last Monday and Tuesday Jose gave me access to his mobile/cell phone data so I could check and comment on Monday Murals on the desktop, which was great.
What was our life like before internet?

...I hope that they find a way to save some sections after the construction is complete! Thanks Sami for hosting the party.
ReplyDeleteI hope they save it all and have the entrance to the station elsewhere :) thanks Tom
DeleteThese are fine, Sami, and speak eloquently of Place. Thank You
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia :)
DeleteFun murals, Sami. I'm glad you got your internet back. It's always frustrating when it goes out and all the more so when you can't get a tech for a few days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, a bit of an internet detox :)
DeleteWe have many of these artworks on hoardings and isn't it so much better than plain colours, invariably being covered in graffiti.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad Andrew. Not sure when these were painted, but they looked great.
DeleteWe can still find places where we exist perfectly well without the internet. Miriam and I spent eleven days high in the Himalayas without internet service, and - amazing though it seems - we got along perfectly well without it, and after the first day didn't even miss it. The moment we got WIFI again we were right back at it, like a drug addict reconnected with heroin!
ReplyDeleteI agree David, we can certainly do very well without it, but as soon as we have it we can't let go :)
DeleteColourful and fun mural. Once we have internet, will feel lost without the internet. Thank you for hosting. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy :)
DeleteBeautiful murals, Thanks a lot for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rupam, enjoy the rest of your week :)
DeleteI bet the line will be ready for a ride when... or if?... we can come back to Perth.
ReplyDeleteWeeeee. Good question, Sami. Before internet... phone booths come to mind. Paper books, playing outside till it got dark (speaking of Germany, LOL).
Great series and map!
Yes, we kept busy with other things and probably wasted less time on the net.
DeleteYou always manage to find really cool murals, another week of great art.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy :)
DeleteGostei deste conjunto de murais bem coloridos.

DeleteYou have so many murals, I am always glad when I find one in a month...:)
ReplyDeleteThat's true, so many murals being painted all the time :)
DeleteI love that we are also getting paintings on construction site hoardings. Makes it more interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt does make it all look so much better I agree Jackie :)
DeleteGreat to see this major mural project with such talented artists and such different visions.
ReplyDeleteThanks TFG :)
DeleteThese are all wonderful. My favorite is by Tyrown Waigana. I hope they can salvage them and find a permanent home for them in the future.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth, I quite like Tyrown's murals too :)
DeleteSuch cheerful colors. Lots of different styles but they're all uplifting in their own way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan 😊
DeleteThese are all wonderful. They certainly change the area to a special place.
ReplyDeleteIt does make the area special. Thanks Pat

Dias bons, Sami...
