Two signs seen in Sydney, warning people to be on the lookout before crossing the road.

  1. Strange that you need such warnings/signs.
Though, yes, reminds me of that mother on her bike who checked if the road is clear (it was) and let her 2-3 year old son just cycle through. How is he supposed to learn to stop and take a look if a vehicle is crossing?

    1. People shouldn't need these signs, I think we should all be taught the right way to cross the roads, but who knows, maybe some people need to be reminded.

  2. In the second sign, yes of course check, but the onus is on the truck to stop and a pedestrian should be able to freely walk across the crossing without having to check. It is not right that pedestrians should have to check. Our governments are trying to put everything back on pedestrians, and it is not right.

    1. I agree with you Andrew, we shouldn't have to worry about crossing roads on the zebra crossing, but then some drivers could be distracted, so better check before crossing. Just recently I have had to stop twice in the middle of a crossing because two drivers just drove by when it was red for them! It could have resulted in a bad accident. Distracted drivers...

  5. Hello, these are important signs. Drivers should slow down at the crosswalks. Wishing you a happy day!

  6. The ONE thing I like about these signs is, they rhyme, which makes them easy to remember. Like the "don't drown, turn around" when a road is impassible with water. Some things should be obvious, but OBVIOUSLY, they aren't! Great sign finds, though.

Clear signs and using the bright yellow to attract full attention!

  8. I just go through life assuming that every driver on the road is a bloody idiot and proceed based on that.

    1. You might have the right attitude William, even though we shouldn't have to behave that way.

  10. Then add people that are on their phones and then there is even more chance of injury or worse.

Have a fabulous day, Sami. ♥

    1. Yes, I think those signs are maybe aimed at those that are looking at their phones instead of the road.
