Painted on two levels of this building at Doha Old Port, as part of the "World Wide Walls International Mural Festival", hosted by Qatar Museums in Nov/Dec 2023, "Nesternity" by Herzven from Bali, Indonesia.
In Doha the artist discovered the culture, friendliness, uniqueness and vibrant colours that reflect beauty and joy. This artwork incorporates motifs and cultures inspired by the city's architecture, the land and sea and an endemic bird named "hoopoe" and also includes a mythical Indonesian character, the "barong" and how different aspects of life can coexist harmoniously.
The hoopoe is a relatively common bird in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Neat that the artist painted such an interesting image of it.

DeleteI had no idea that in a country where the omnipresent religion tends to condemn images, seeing them as encouraging idol worship, you could still find such beautiful murals. Thanks for these beautiful pics.
