ReplyDeleteJust in case you are interested the bird you refer to as a Red-billed Coot is a Dusky Moorhen, the ducks are Maned Ducks, also called Australian Wood Ducks, and the gulls are Silver Gulls. Thanks for these nice shots of birds! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteThanks David. My knowledge of birds is very limited, will change the names under the photos. Have a lovely weekend.
DeleteThe ibis is a peculiar looking bird.
ReplyDeleteThey are strange looking but have adapted well to city life :)
DeleteYou got some fabulous shots, Sami. I really love the ibis. Most birds like this we never see hee.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. I assume we have different birds to other continents.
DeleteGood captures. You didn't come across a brush turkey, the newest Sydney pest bird after the Ibis?
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew. Not this time, but I saw a couple on a previous visit.
DeleteWonderful photos, Sami. I've only heard of sea gulls (and spider webs) before. The rest of the birds were all new to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. I presume with birds each continent must have their own different species. I think Sea gulls are everywhere though :)
DeletePassarinhos muito bonitos e nada timidos!
ReplyDelete: )
Aqui os animais nao parecem ter medo das pessoas e adaptaram-se bem nas cidades.
DeleteThat Crested pigeon looks even pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd, ohh, the Noisy Miner - what a name :-)
Bin chicken, really, so mean, that name. But it always makes me grin, too. And do I miss seagulls (spiders... not "so much").
Great series, Sami!
Thanks Iris. I enjoy seeing the Ibis too. We don't see that many in Perth, but lately I see a "couple" that often sit on top of the roof of the Nursing Home across from the clinic where I work.
DeleteA lovely series of feathered Sydney-siders Sami 😉 There is a house around the corner from us where the residents obviously know what Ibis eat, quite often see six or seven Ibis munching away on their lawn, really weird to see 😀
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Grace, I wonder if they leave their leftovers on the lawn for the Ibis, lol.
DeleteHello Sami, I just love all your beautiful birds. A few of my favorites are the Ibis and the Lapwing. The Noisy Miner is cool too. That spider's nest is huge. Great collection of birds and photos. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend. PS, thank you for the comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen.
DeleteLindos e bem apanhados.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e um bom mês de Junho.

ReplyDeleteThank you Anu.
DeleteI love the ibis! Magnificent birds.
ReplyDeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteLove that crested pigeon, so cute!
The web is hard to detect and as for giant spiders, we've seen some in Indonesia!
Hugs,
Mariette
The pigeon is cute :) Thanks Mariette.
