Looking forward to your mural finds this week.

Thanks, Sami

Next to Hotel Melia Ria, and the Aveiro River, is a 57mt x 3mt (187ft x 9,84ft) panel with 5616 tiles, hand painted during a 3 month period in 2021 at the Aleluia Factory.

The panel was conceived by Fatinha Ramos, an artist from Aveiro, who has done illustrations for children's books, murals, theatre, movies, fashion and ceramics.

She lives in Antwerp, Belgium, and has exhibited some of her works all over the world. She has won various prizes - Award by the Society of Illustrators of New York, White Raven at the Frankfurt book fair, Communications Art, Global Illustration Award, World Illustrations Award.

Full mural seen from the boat and at the far end left the I "love" Aveiro sign painted on a staircase

  8. I really love the ocean theme and vibe . I really like the tiles that look like they were made just for this very long mural. The colors are charming, too.

I am SO sorry to read about Twiggy. My heart goes out to you, dear.

    1. Thank you Elizabeth, always sad to have to let go of our pets, but there was no chance of improvement once she stopped eating.

  16. This is beautiful tile art dear Sami - I love artwork like this and the sea colors make it extra beautiful!
Today you will get an old ornament from me over a hotel portal. It's not just painted, it's three-dimensional.
There is also an old fresco and writing on a farmhouse in my post.
    Have a good September week!
