I first spotted these murals in December last year. They happen to be just a couple of blocks from my workplace. They weren't yet complete, nor was the new building.
Just a couple of weeks ago I remembered to turn right instead of left when going home so that I could take photos of the completed project.
Perth artist Stormie Mills, was invited to paint the two murals by the developer - Fini Developments - in this 5-storey residential building at 21 Henley Street, Como. The murals took about 1 month to be painted.

ReplyDeleteI was surprised that the apartments are for sale. Here in the states, MOST apartments are rented, while "condos" are sold. English is such a strange language (grin)!
I learned today that because I used an image from the internet for my mural, I couldn't get it to show as an icon. Had to use the lovely Bleubeard instead.
I think an apartment is probably what is called a condo in the States. Apartments are becoming popular, specially with young people or retirees, as they are being built close to the city where formerly there were single houses. It means more people live in the same space used by a house and they are closer to inner-city life. They pay a condominium fee for the common usage of lifts (elevators), pools, gyms, or whatever the building offers. I lived and owned an apartment in Portugal, which we sold when we moved to Australia, but now I would rather live in a stand alone house (as I do now) or a townhouse or villa, which has a small garden...which is what we would like to do when decide to downsize :)

DeleteWow, this is both very beautiful! And advanced - here murals still come slowly, if legal it´s an even longer way. They are tagged often or, one beautiful one by artist Ente on a utility box gets an ad from Telekom all over often, very sad.
