Thanks, Sami.
Painted by "Portuguese maestro" street artist Odeith for the third Darwin Street Art Festival in September 2019, it can found at West Lane in the city centre.
He's transformed the corner incorporating an electricity box which was transformed into a small van.
Check his web page, for some amazing 3D murals!
And you can also listen to this ABC interview with the festival organizer and the artist in Darwin. https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/the-art-show/darwin-street-art-festival/11525492
I was blown away by the car created from the utility box. When I first scrolled down to add my entry, I didn't realize it was part of the mural. I especially like the shadow created by the Roo. What an extraordinary find, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. It's a great illusion
DeleteEspectacular este mural.

DeleteThe inclusion of the utility box is so cleverly done it does my head in and I don't know what I am really seeing. Well done Odeith.

ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito, it is a fabulous mural indeed :)
DeleteThe kangaroo is superb. But the van idea is super-cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I'd love to see more of these on our utility boxes.
Thank you for hosting, Sami. :)
Thanks Dee. We have a lot of our utility boxes being painted here in Perth
DeleteVer a diferença entre o antes e o depois é ver a noite e o dia.

ReplyDeleteIt is quite clever indeed. Thanks Teresa
DeleteHow clever! I was surprised like everyone else - so glad you saved the pre- photo till the end
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie :)
DeleteOh, wow, Sami. These murals are life-like!!! I even found my BOSE there! The roo on the car! Uhhhh... and the spider. The cameleon! Thank you, what a very, VERY talented artist!!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteI would kick the rooster, maybe. Destroyed a whole holiday... No sleeping in, yeah, I get up at 04:40 a.m.in work-life (haha...) but when on holiday... nahhh. That "monster" woke me every darn morno.
Bright side: We were the first in the ocean :-)
He is an amazing artist for sure. I'm hoping to find some of his murals when I visit Portugal sometime in the future. Thanks Iris
DeleteThis is wonderful. Thank you for showing how it looked before painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Traudel.
DeleteWow a very great way to make a mural in 3d. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks SC.
DeleteThis is nothing short of brilliant, Sami. Darwin! There's a town I should visit. I seriously doubt, however, that I ever will. I have only one child, a daughter. Had she been a boy Darwin would have been his name.
ReplyDeleteThanks David, hard to believe but Darwin had the best murals I've ever seen! You would love visiting the national parks in the Northern Territory for the unusual bird life. Interesting about the name, I don't think I've ever come across anyone named Darwin, but I've heard of many Sydney's.
DeleteAbsolutely stunning, just love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jackie :)
DeleteWonderful and the electrical box is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :)
DeleteThat is truly ingenious. I thought it was a strange looking van when I fist looked at the photo. Clever.
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd mention that I'm having trouble with the Linky. It doesn't recognize my photo, just the photos of people who have already commented.
Thanks Sharon, not sure what is happening, you are the second person who has a google symbol instead of the photo of the mural.
DeleteSami you found a cool one.... AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia :)
DeleteThat's wonderful! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you S M.
DeleteNicely done! It took me a couple of seconds to realize the van was part of the mural.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's so well done, you almost think it's parked right there! Thanks Zhu
DeleteOh, I thought the van was real! This is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, great illusion.
DeleteI Sami, for some reason I can't link my post to this site.
