Monday Mural - Welcome to Darwin

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks, Sami.

Painted by "Portuguese maestro" street artist Odeith for the third Darwin Street Art Festival in September 2019, it can found at West Lane in the city centre.

He's transformed the corner incorporating an electricity box which was transformed into a small van.

Check his web page, for some amazing 3D murals!

And you can also listen to this ABC interview with the festival organizer and the artist in Darwin.                                        https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/the-art-show/darwin-street-art-festival/11525492

  1. I was blown away by the car created from the utility box. When I first scrolled down to add my entry, I didn't realize it was part of the mural. I especially like the shadow created by the Roo. What an extraordinary find, Sami.

  5. The inclusion of the utility box is so cleverly done it does my head in and I don't know what I am really seeing. Well done Odeith.

  13. Oh, wow, Sami. These murals are life-like!!! I even found my BOSE there! The roo on the car! Uhhhh... and the spider. The cameleon! Thank you, what a very, VERY talented artist!!! Wow.
I would kick the rooster, maybe. Destroyed a whole holiday... No sleeping in, yeah, I get up at 04:40 a.m.in work-life (haha...) but when on holiday... nahhh. That "monster" woke me every darn morno.
Bright side: We were the first in the ocean :-)

  16. This is nothing short of brilliant, Sami. Darwin! There's a town I should visit. I seriously doubt, however, that I ever will. I have only one child, a daughter. Had she been a boy Darwin would have been his name.

    1. Thanks David, hard to believe but Darwin had the best murals I've ever seen! You would love visiting the national parks in the Northern Territory for the unusual bird life. Interesting about the name, I don't think I've ever come across anyone named Darwin, but I've heard of many Sydney's.

  18. That is truly ingenious. I thought it was a strange looking van when I fist looked at the photo. Clever.
Just thought I'd mention that I'm having trouble with the Linky. It doesn't recognize my photo, just the photos of people who have already commented.
