When I visited "Sculpture by the Sea" in Bondi on my last visit to Sydney I photographed a wall of murals at Bondi Beach.
This mural entitled "Island offering" was painted by New South Wales artist Tania Wursig.
The hibiscus wearing lady could very much be at home among the tropical fruits and plants of the Polynesian islands, Hawaii or the Caribbean islands.

Nice murals! They look much more like Hawaii to me than like the Caribbean, at least insofar as what I've seen when visiting those locations. However, there's been lots of interchange between the two tropical places, and both places cultivate and feature the same tropical fruits -- especially to tourists!
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
You may be right Mae, I looked at the fruit which is common to both regions and the lady actually reminded me of a popular Brazilian singer.
DeleteSami, these are stunning! I love the artist's style
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole :)
DeletePolynesia I would say, dear Sami <3
ReplyDeleteYes, she could be Polynesian too Cloudia :)
Delete...she would look at home in Maui!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she would, thanks Tom
DeleteI am pleased you took a close up of her face. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew :)
Delete*smile* Looking at the facial features of the depicted beauty I would opt for Tahiti or surrounds . . . you have made me feel guilty: I reside but 120km 'down the road' but have never been to 'Sculptures by the Sea' and I lived around the corner for over three decades . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks Eha. There's always next year...
DeleteOne of the best murals you've found.

ReplyDeleteThanks Iris, I hope so too :)
DeleteI really like this Gauguin-style colourful atmosphere and the message that accompanies this very beautiful image. Sometimes on city walls is written the nostalgia of a world that tends to disappear
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito, I agree the message is very nice.
DeleteUma obra de arte este mural.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen, have a great week too.
DeleteHow did I miss this? Is it new?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't really see dates on the murals, but upon online investigation, some appear to have been painted as far back as 2010 and the latest in 2018.
DeleteShe is lovely and the artist is very talented. I really like that shell necklace she is wearing too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lois, she is pretty :)
