Monday Murals - in Bruhl

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.

Thanks Sami

I saw this mural when we walked from daughter Karina's house to Piato restaurant on our last night in Bruhl.  Couldn't get information about it, can just see it has the words "Bruhl" on one side.

This one shows Bruhl Castle - the Augustusburg Palace, that I showed in my last travel post
It was painted in 2015 by Paul Schneider and it took about 400 hours. It shows the European stars surrounded by trees and in between the trunks you can see traditional German houses and the Augustusburg Palace in the centre.

This one was at the Rathaus (City Hall/Council). Not a very good picture unfortunately as the sun was shining right above it.

Welcome to Frankfurt Airport - This one was taken while we waited for our luggage at Frankfurt airport, before Karina picked us up to drive us to Bruhl.

  1. ...Sami, you found several nice murals. The first one certainly dresses up an ugly building. Thanks for hosting.

  2. I'm impressed with the large utility box that you took photos of on all four sides. Not sure how to interpret it, but it is colorful. And I absolutely LOVE the mural in the Frankfurt airport. Very family friendly.

  6. Une vraiment belle serie de peintures murales allemandes. J’aime pour ma part beaucoup les premières à cause de leur étrange abstraction. (Kwarkito)

  7. It's interesting to see murals in other parts of the world. I've always been amused by the word rathaus. It seems so appropriate. The mural looks pretty good on the rathaus.

    1. To the English speaking it unfortunately sounds very much like "house of rats". But rat means council :)

  10. Nice ones. I could swear there was not a single mural in airport Frankfurt last time. Just signs. Time to go back, it seems!
And guess you see my frustration about never or seldom finding the name of the artist! ;-)

    1. At Frankfurt airport that was the only one I saw by the luggage collection area. Sometimes it's difficult to find the names of the artists.

  13. When I worked in downtown St. Louis, Mo I looked out the window at Lindy Squared. It's no longer in it's original location but there is a great time line of it going up and coming down on this website.
