This mural was missing from the Subiaco series of "No more Blank Walls", painted in October 2024, as I hadn't photographed the finished mural.
Since going to Subiaco in February with Iris, when she visited from Germany, I managed to take a photo and this series is now complete! By coincidence it is also a mural relevant to the current world situation.
Space of Peace, painted by Wild Drawing, a muralist from Bali, Indonesia, residing in Athens, Greece, at 36 Rowland Street, Subiaco. Painted in November 2024 for "No More Blank Walls" festival.
The artist wrote in his instagram at the time: "With 92 countries currently involved in conflict across their borders (a lot more now 😢) - the highest number since World War II - it is time to recall that real peace is more than the absence of war; it is an absence of the causes of war.

Apologies to those that tried to link their murals: I somehow copied the link of the previous mural, hence it didn't work. All updated now.

Obrigada Pedro. O ser humano nao aprendeu ainda com todas as guerras sem fim!
DeleteAn important mural, Sami, a sad one, too and very well done. I´m way behind! I will also share those I found with Grace or Ingo (the latter in hectic...).. or myself, cause I sometimes went on my own :-) - just for fun!

DeleteDear Sami,
ReplyDelete"It is an absence of the causes of war"... is a very true and wise statement! And the mural with the dove of peace, the olive branch, and the architecturally beautiful house (which makes the real building look so much more charming) is a wonderful work by the artist!
All the best, Traude
Thank you Traude. I also liked the artist's statement.
