Just in time for the Chinese New Year that started on the 17th February and ends with the Lantern Festival on the 3rd March - "Kung Hei Fat Choi".
Murals seen in Chinatown in Northbridge, an inner-city suburb of Perth. "The Claim", painted in July 2025 by local artist Steven Buckles, a tribute to the cultural layers of the neighbourhood.

...Sami, you have such an array of different styles this week. Thanks for hosting, I wish you a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom, yes all very different :)
DeleteGreat dragons!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mae.
DeleteYes, dear Sami, I'm unfortunately familiar with the problem of parked cars or other obstacles obscuring the mural. But the painting is still clearly visible – and the other murals you're showing today are also worth seeing, each in its own way. You remind me that I still have some great murals from Chinatown in Toronto. Today I show some from Vancouver. ( I also can't find the artist for every artwork. )
ReplyDeleteI find the mural that looks like a crocheted blanket very original. And I like the portrait of the pretty woman against the backdrop of a coastal road. The last two also have their charm and tell stories in their own different ways.
All the best from Austria, Traude

Thank you Traude, all different but each tells a different story as you say. I find it frustrating when I can't find the name of the artists. Iris (from Germany) and I had an afternoon in Fremantle looking for murals, one had just finished being painted today, the other last weekend :)
DeleteOn the same track with you today in Chinatown.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim, I've had this one for a few weeks, and just remembered it would be good for the Chinese New Year.
DeleteI love the dragon, and the rest are good too, with the lace one unusual.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew. That artist just paints different lace patterns.
DeleteOh, yes, our SC is full of decorations for the event. Last time a dragon came at me... eeeeek ;-) Great murals, I think (thinking, huh), I spotted the dragon one, too - so many pics already on my cam.
ReplyDeleteThanks Iris. You will have murals for the rest of the year now, with all the ones from Fremantle...and maybe Subiaco too :)
DeleteA dança do Dragão reina por aqui nestes dias.
ReplyDeleteBoa semana
Tambem aqui e festejado por muita gente.
DeleteStunning mural works, Awesome post.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for hosting.
Thank you Rupam :)
DeleteWhat a stunning dragon mural! I also really like the "Youth Mental Health Matters" one. Yes, cars in the way can be an issue!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra.
DeleteThat dragon is fabulous!!! It reminds me of the dragon bridge in Denang! I like the lacy one too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jackie. They are both great murals.
DeleteYou always have such wonderful murals....i never find some that come slightly close to them.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time
Violetta
Just lucky that we have new murals being painted all the time in Perth. Just a few days ago I went to Fremantle (a suburb 30 min away) with Iris (a German blogger) to show her murals painted since she visited 2 years ago, and she must have taken photos of over 20 murals! Two of them had just been painted last weekend.
DeleteThis one is so dynamic! I don't know how you manage to capture so many perfect ones!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. Lucky that Perth has so many murals :)
DeleteThese are great! I can’t even pick out a favorite.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda :)
