When we visited the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at the Perth Museum I spotted this mural in the distance and recognized it as a Rone (Tyrone Wright, a Melbourne artist).
This female portrait is painted in his trademark soft pastels on a building adjacent to the Art Gallery of WA (Western Australia) in Roe Street in Perth's city centre.
He had an exhibition of his works at the Art Gallery in 2024, but somehow I never managed to go and see it.

On the way to the train station we walked through Raine Square, a small shopping centre in William Street, across the Perth train station, where I found a new mural painted by WA artist George Domahidy.

DeleteDear Sami, I absolutely love Tyrone Wright's delicate style – the portrait of the woman is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always enjoy seeing murals that brighten up shopping arcades, subway entrances, electrical boxes, and even pavement. Thankfully, there are more and more of them making the world more colorful – but there are definitely still plenty of blank walls – so hopefully there will be more murals to come!
All the best, Traude
