Murals from Katara Cultural Village, in Doha, Qatar.

"Friends - Qatar and Cuba" - this mural shows a boy spinning a football, while the other looks up in wonderment. The mural was painted by Cuban artist Maisel Lòpez Valdés in one of Katara's buildings and it was inaugurated just before the Fifa World Cup 2022.

The following 2 murals also in the village, I didn't see the artist's name.

This linky list is now closed.

  7. Very beautiful ones! Oh, but when I think of Cuba I rather think of boxing! And of a mural in... Leederville? It was also a Cuban boxing-club!

    1. I suppose this was done for the Football world cup, by a Cuban artist, so football is it. Yes there's a boxing themed one in Leederville. Thanks Iris

  8. These are also impressive murals from Qatar, dear Sami!
I find the mural with the two soccer boys particularly beautiful/touching. They come from different cultures and yet are connected. Wouldn't it be nice if the world could be like this everywhere and all the time?
    All the best, Traude
