Thanks Sami
The next 4 murals are located in Margaret River's main street - Bussell Highway.
The first mural of a Sword-billed Hummingbird (Ensifera ensifera) was painted in a shopfront of "Priceline Pharmacy". Titled "The balancing act" it was painted by Chris Nixon from @nixon__studio and Andrew Frazer from @andrewfrazerdesigns.
This third and fourth murals are painted on the wall of the gift shop "Enchanted"

...it's fun to see IGA, they are a thing of the past here! Thanks for hosting, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. They are independent grocers and we have a lot of them scattered all over the city.
DeleteThe hummingbird mural is fun: the artist chose to depict one of them upside down in a way that it could definitely not fly. I love watching hummingbirds, especially in places where there are many species (like in Arizona).
ReplyDeleteHummingbirds are native only to the Americas, and as far as I know they haven’t been introduced into Australia. So maybe the artist has never seen them.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
They named the mural hummingbirds, but I also don't think we have them in Australia. We have honey-eaters which also have a long beak and fly quickly between flowers eating the pollen. Thanks Mae
DeleteDear Sami, it's great that there are so many wonderful murals in Margaret River. Since hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds, the hummingbird mural is of course my favorite :-D But I also find the others very beautiful and well done.
ReplyDeleteHave you changed something in your linkup or have they had an update? Because today everything worked differently than usual and I can only see the thumbnails when I click on the button... In any case, I hope the link to my post works.
All the best, have a nice Sunday and a good start to the new week, Traude

Thank you Traude. I was also surprised at the new format, they must have changed it. I much preferred the old format when you see the little pics. Enjoy the rest of the week
DeleteJ’adore ce graphisme sue je trouve très original (kwarkito)
ReplyDeleteMerci Kwarkito :)
DeleteColourful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim.
DeleteMagical Margaret River! And I love the upside down hummingbird. They can really do anything. And when they whiz by your ear you can really hear them hum! Thank you for bringing all that back to me with this beautiful post, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia. I was surprised at the quantity of new murals in Margaret River since the last time I was there.
DeleteThese are quite lovely. Birds do make the best subjects!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. Birds are always popular.
DeleteThe all give Margaret River a lift. I didn't know we have hummingbirds here.
ReplyDeleteProbably not, but the Australian honey-eaters are similar to the hummingbirds. Thanks Andrew
DeleteThose are so all very cool. In my post, the murals are really at the end. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great variety of murals!
DeleteBoa semana.
ReplyDeleteCom lindos voos
Obrigada Pedro. Boa semana para si tambem.
DeleteI´ve never seen a humming bird in real life. But I must admit, the "winner" is the last one for me!
ReplyDeleteAngel wings are always popular. Thanks Iris.
DeleteThe hummingbirds are lovely! I like the water one on the IGA too...made me smile.

DeleteThe first one, the bird, is my favourite. I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jackie.
DeleteAll three of these are nice but I especially like the hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon :)
Deletelovely murals, Sami. it seems they messed up something, not only are the thumbnails not visible unless you 'click here' - which I missed for a few minutes ;-) but also a link to "go back to the blog" leads you to linky page. why do they change a winning horse??? :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Klara. I noticed the change and not sure if Linky changed something or if I did something wrong when I put up this link. Will see next week what happens.
DeleteMy favourite is the one with the Hummingbirds. Thanks for hosting us, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat.
DeleteI love the hummingbirds and the butterfly. I haven’t seen an IGA in years.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. I didn't know they had IGA's in the States (Tom also mentioned them). We have them all over, I find them more expensive, but they are open longer hours if needed.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks William. Your comment had gone to spam.
