Happy New Year to all of you and welcome back to Monday Murals.

The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.
Thanks Sami

A couple of months ago I went to a shopping centre not too far from work and came across these very colourful murals at the Civic Square library just behind it -in the suburb of Booragoon in the City of Melville.
Entitled "Everything Melville", this mural was painted by Mel McVee (Melski) in 2017.

On the bridge connecting the Civic Centre to Garden City Shopping Centre, a low wall of murals framed the bridge. This mural was designed and painted in 2020 by the Year 8 to Year 10 art students from Applecross Senior High School.

Near the library a sculpture of an owl - "The Getting of Wisdom", by Len Zuks.

The getting of wisdom - by Len Zuks

In the coming weeks I'll be showing you another mural by Melski that I found during our camping holiday and very similar owl sculpture that I saw when we visited the mining town of Boddington - in fact a town full of quirky and beautiful sculptures.
Plus more sculptures from the sculpture trail in the town of Byford, when we drove by on the way home.
It was a fun holiday for sure!

  14. Dear Sami, I'm glad you had a fun holiday and also that you showed us such beautiful mural finds. This library looks extremely inviting just because of the painting. And I also really like the bridge painting and the owl sculpture.
Today I am sending you a painted train carriage with an extension.
I wish you and everyone you love (humans and animals) a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year 🍄🍀!
    All the best, Traude
