Another one of the 8 school murals painted for the 4th edition of the Infinito Festival, that took place from the 19th to the 26th September 2022 in schools across the Cascais district.
This one was painted at the São João do Estoril Secondary School (where my Mom gave a speech in March, about the Portuguese consul Aristides Sousa Mendes, who saved Jewish people during the Second World War) - you can read about it here: https://sami-colourfulworld.blogspot.com/2023/04/march-wrap-up-portugal-sintra-and.html
The mural was painted by the duo Frederico Draw & Contra, artists based in the city of Porto, entitled "RUÍDO" (noise) - with faces, colours and patterns to represent the multiculturalism of the school.
That is a nice work you found Sami. Thank you for sharing and hosting. I look forward to this mural party
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating to Cloudia :)
Delete...diversity is always a good thing! Thanks Sami for hosting the party, enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom, have a great week too.
DeleteThe stories of each of the faces are intriguing. For example why does it quote the first words of the US Constitution? who are the individuals depicted?
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Monday Murals!
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Good question Mae. I assume he says "we the people" meaning all races that frequent the school? I think they are kids that attend that school. At my Mom's speech I noticed African kids and even an Asian girl.
DeleteVery nice mural, though language is confusing, the faces say enough.
ReplyDeleteAt the top right it says "we the people", bottom left it says "ruido" which means "noise". Thanks Barbara
DeleteWonderful celebration of diversity. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia
DeleteThat mural looks fabulous on a single wall?
ReplyDeleteYes, the wall at the end of the school building. Thanks Roentare
DeleteI always admire muralists who can paint faces well and this one fits the bill. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew. I agree, the faces look fabulous!
DeleteParecem fotografias.

DeleteNice Murals.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marianne
DeleteI'm so impressed with people who can paint "big."
ReplyDeleteMe too, it can't be easy to do the proportions. Thanks Jeanie
DeleteA very nice mural with a positive message.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon.
DeleteWhile I like the positive message in this mural, the art seems chaotic and difficult to "read".
ReplyDeleteThanks TFG
DeleteI like it. If someone painted that in Florida, the governor would condemn it for being “woke.”
ReplyDeleteThat is sad in this day and age of inclusion. Thanks Linda
DeleteTruly Amazing mural, Great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rupam
DeleteAll the people at the school feel included in this one, Sami.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they do, thanks Pat
