Even though I still have a few more murals from Berlin, I'm moving back to Perth this time, with two murals from Curtin University, Perth's largest university.
The first abstract mural, painted on Koorliny Way, (meaning ‘movement’ in Noongar) in May this year by Perth artist Sioux Tempest, to commemorate the launch of the university's new Exchange precinct - one measuring 50mt long (164ft) and the other 35mt long (115ft).
The other abstract/geometric mural painted at Curtin University, was painted by American street artist Alex Brewer, AKA Hense for Form Public 2016.
This time the mural was painted on the ceiling of a pedestrian passageway connecting the university campus - a huge 60mt (200ft) x 18mt (60ft) artwork.
These are extremely large murals. I was glad you also shared the drone shot because it put the first mural into perspective. I love the shape of it, too. That campus is FILLED with interesting architecture and sculptures. What a fabulous place to be able to visit. Thanks for sharing these and thanks for hosting, Sami. It is good to be back, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks to your diligence in finding the name of the building in my mural, I went to the school districts and learned there used to be two distinct school districts. Before consolidation, the Bronson high school mascot was Bulldogs. After consolidation, they are now known as the Eagles. Thanks for finding this, Sami.
Delete...I rarely see horizontals mural here, those on don't hold up well. I love the the aerial view. Thanks Sami for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI like these giant paintings, on the street, walls and ceilings. I imagine it must be very nice to work and study in this university!
ReplyDeleteThat mural on the floor is incredible. It is huge!
ReplyDeletewow that is one looonnnnng mural
ReplyDeleteThese are marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI thought we might have to start a crowd funding to buy you a drone, but there you go. You have a drone photo. I like the second mural on the ceiling. Maybe you had to lie on your back to take that one.
ReplyDeleteUm espaço de criatividade.
ReplyDeleteLiteralmente.

Beautiful murals, both on the ground and on the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteMurals don’t need to be on walls. What a delightful street mural.
ReplyDeleteLot of art work here and indeed not only on the walls. Nice to see.
ReplyDeleteGreat murals, large and colourful. They make a statement in the city.
ReplyDeleteAndrew's comment made me laugh, as I was wondering about the overhead shot too. Fabulous!
