Monday Mural - Barramundi

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks, Sami.

Painted in 2020 by Shaun Lee (aka Hafleg) (the blue side), and Trent Lee, (the orange side).

Both artists are Darwin born and raised Larrakia, Wardaman and Karajarri men.

The mural can be found at Nutall Place, Darwin. Sadly it had a huge container in front of it, but I thought the mural was nice enough to be featured.

Hafleg is also the same artist that painted the turtle.

Barramundi - an Aboriginal name for the Asian Sea Bass/Australian Sea Bass, a  very popular fish in Australian as well as Asian cuisines.

  1. That's a great mural. I love the aboriginal style of showing the interior organs of a creature when depicting it. This is a good example.

  2. ...a bold mural with or without the container. It's too bad that the artist wasn't able to incorporate the container into the mural. Thanks Sami for hosting the party, stay well.

    1. Thanks Tom. I presume the container was put there after the mural, might be a temporary think for the company that operates from that site.

  3. It's really too bad about the container hiding the beautiful mural. The two artists' murals worked so well together. It is wonderful regardless.

  4. Now that's a fish I've never seen but the shape of it reminds me of a Kahawai.

  5. Dearest Sami,
Too bad it got obstructed when you were there... One cannot go back for another photo.

  6. What a shame to put a container in front of such a beautiful mural. I really like the effect of the surface peeling off. have a good week and thanks for hosting all these pictures

    1. Thanks Kwarkito, it's a different style of mural, it looking at first as if it was a lid from a tin of canned fish being peeled off :)

  9. Its a pity that this beautiful mural is blocked by the container. Yes, barramundi is common and here, the fish is known as Siakap in Malay and is good for steaming.

  18. Super murals Sami. I've moved dustbins before but that container would have been tricky :):)
