Painted in 2020 by Shaun Lee (aka Hafleg) (the blue side), and Trent Lee, (the orange side).
Both artists are Darwin born and raised Larrakia, Wardaman and Karajarri men.
The mural can be found at Nutall Place, Darwin. Sadly it had a huge container in front of it, but I thought the mural was nice enough to be featured.
Hafleg is also the same artist that painted the turtle.
Barramundi - an Aboriginal name for the Asian Sea Bass/Australian Sea Bass, a very popular fish in Australian as well as Asian cuisines.

That's a great mural. I love the aboriginal style of showing the interior organs of a creature when depicting it. This is a good example.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae :)
Delete...a bold mural with or without the container. It's too bad that the artist wasn't able to incorporate the container into the mural. Thanks Sami for hosting the party, stay well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. I presume the container was put there after the mural, might be a temporary think for the company that operates from that site.
DeleteIt's really too bad about the container hiding the beautiful mural. The two artists' murals worked so well together. It is wonderful regardless.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth, it was a good collaboration :)
DeleteNow that's a fish I've never seen but the shape of it reminds me of a Kahawai.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy.
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteToo bad it got obstructed when you were there... One cannot go back for another photo.
Hugs,
Mariette
Thanks Mariette. Probably won't be going back for a while :)

DeleteWhat a shame to put a container in front of such a beautiful mural. I really like the effect of the surface peeling off. have a good week and thanks for hosting all these pictures
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito, it's a different style of mural, it looking at first as if it was a lid from a tin of canned fish being peeled off :)
DeleteThey are such interesting artistic styles. I am not sure if I prefer these or the turtle.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew. I like the turtle best :)
DeleteThank you Sami
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia :)
DeleteThat is so cool. Thanks for hosting this great party.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patrick :)
DeleteIts a pity that this beautiful mural is blocked by the container. Yes, barramundi is common and here, the fish is known as Siakap in Malay and is good for steaming.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. Nice that you are familiar with barramundi.
DeleteConhecia a designação (barramundi) e adorei os murais.
ReplyDeleteComo sempre.
Boa semana
Obrigada Pedro, boa semana :)

Thank you Rupam :)
DeleteThey look nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne :)
DeleteWonderful work! It's encouraging to see recognition of indigenous art and artists.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the murals in the Northern Territory appear to be painted by Aboriginal artists which is great. Thanks David
DeleteSuch a shame that the container is there. It is really nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :)

DeleteI like the orange and turquoise together very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, the two styles and colours go well together.
DeleteSo colorful! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda :)
DeleteBeautiful colors again with the one in aboriginal colors. Great mural.
ReplyDeleteThank you SC.
DeleteSuper murals Sami. I've moved dustbins before but that container would have been tricky :):)
ReplyDeleteI agree Grace, it would be difficult and costly 😁.
DeleteWow great murals, I liked your post
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit Nassah
