The other two murals I saw on my return home after the Sculptures by the Sea visit when I saw Frida and the Dingo Flour murals are these:

When crossing the bridge over the Swan river I spotted a house with a mural I had already posted in February 2019 (Sunflowers by Brenton See) and also the rainbow containers and decided to turn off onto Canning Highway (not really a highway) and parked in East Street, which is closest to the containers to go an take some photos. Both are quite joyful aren't they?

DeleteWhat a plethora of signs you found. The container boxes sculpture was incredible. Here in the States, they have started using them as shops. They are all connected together and there is a second story in one are of the complex. I like what the artist did with these. They were really colorful, too.
ReplyDeleteYou found beautiful murals this week. The one at the Children's dentistry was so well done, and that one with the surfers was out of this world. Both so very different, but certainly clever.
I always laugh when I see sunflowers in Oz. Kansas is often known as Oz because of the Wizard of Oz is supposed to be in Kansas. And Kansas's state flower is the sunflower. These are well done and I'm still chuckling.
This will be my final Monday Mural until the 25th of April. I'm doing my annual 22 days of recycling, starting on the 1st. I'll still stop by, though.

Alice Ford's seadragon is quite charming and not too bad. I really like the big fresco, very cheerful and colourful with the giant sunflowers. The arch with the coloured containers is very amazing. I wish you a beautiful week, inspired and full of discoveries

ReplyDeleteKids get them as sticker on their bathing suit after having mastered safe swimming. Then you may enter the big area by yourself, was I proud :-)
Ohhh, all sooo beautiful and also... the sky, looks like rain may hit!. Hmmm, eukalyptus-smell in the caravan park...
To be that fit and ride the waves like that, great collection.
I think sea-horses and sea-dragons are similar, just have differences in their leaf-like appendages. It was a bit of a cloudy day that day, hence the darker sky. I have never surfed, and don't think I could do it now at my age :) Thanks Iris

I really will have to open my eyes a little wider, but I have been going through in my mind's eye the parts of town that I visit and I can't bring to mind even one. It would seem that in Canada, or at least in this area, we are not into murals in a big way. Western Australia seems to be the mural capital of the world and you are its publicist,
ReplyDeleteEven I am amazed at the amount of new murals that pop up constantly David! Just this Saturday I went into the city and found 2 new murals and from a news article I found there are another 9 or 10 in a suburb about 20min from me, so will have to visit it soon :)
